Our Clients
We have long-standing relationships with some of the most noted architects and respected custom builders in the Delaware Valley. We also work with private home owners and facilities managerment professionals. If we haven't had the privilege of working with you or your firm, then please consider giving Timothy Spillane, Inc. a call in the future.
Architects: If a good project is topped off by a good roof, then a great project has its foundation in a great architect. We've had the good fortune of working with some of the finest architects in the Philadelphia area. These are some of the firms that we've had the pleasure of working with on some really extraordinary projects.
(Naturally, we're partial to architects who like to incorporate slate, tile and copper work in their designs!)
Archer & Buchanan Architecture, Ltd: West Chester, PA (610) 692-9112. Innovative is the way we describe what this firm does. Our installations with them include use of handmade French and English clay tiles - and lots of copper roofing. Please ask for Peter Archer or Richard Buchanan.
F.L. Bissinger, Inc: Villanova, PA (610) 525-6438. Fred has done some of the most extraodinary residential projects on Philadelphia's Main Line. Our work with him includes installation of handmade French clay tile, slate roof projects and custom copper fabrications and copper gutter work.
John Milner Architects: Chadds Ford, PA (610) 388-0111. Our work with John Milner Architects includes installing roofs on new residential designs based on "classic European and American traditions", roofing restoration projects and consultation on historic structures. Please contact partners Mary DeNada or John Milner.
Peter Zimmerman Architects: Berwyn, PA (610) 647-6970. This firm is a specialist in custom residential architecture, both new and restoration. We've done slate roofs, English tile roofs and even a cedar shake installation for them once! Ask for principlas Peter Zimmerman or John Toates.
Voith & Mactavish Architects, LLP: Philadelphia, PA (215) 545-4544. "Great architecture comes from innovation within the context of tradtion." That about sums up our experience with VMA. We recently worked with them on the McKelvy House - Lafayette College roof restoration project.
Builders / Project Managers: While we tend to think that roofing tops all the other trades, when it comes to building a project there can be literally dozens of other subcontractors involved. That's a lot of coordination. Somebody has to take the Architects design from the drawing boards to the finished product and that's what builders and project managers do. Some just do it better than others. A lot better. We've had the the opportunity to build relationships with the following firms, and - take it from us - they know what they're doing!
Cherokee Construction: Chestnut Hill, PA (215) 248-1800. Nearly thirty years of experience in high end residential and commercial construction. Contact Tom Meyers.
Griffith Construction, Inc: Chester Springs, PA (610) 827-7990. One of the best firms we've ever worked with. Our installations for them include numerous large slate and clay tile residential installations and restorations; also the related copper work and gutter systems. Please contact Bob Griffiths or Wayne Rowland, Partners.
Levine and Co, Inc: Ardmore, PA (610) 642-4081. Not a builder or project manager, but a firm that really knows about roofing systems. They refer to their work as "Roof Consulting and Architectural Conservation." Ask for Jeff Levine if you've got a roofing dilemma.
The Malvern Development Group, Inc: Malvern, PA (610) 296-7773. These guys are just great to work with. Our installations for them include (really) large residential slate installations, slate roof renovations, and copper work. Please contact Michael J. Rabena, Principal.
Drew Nehlig (The Academy of the New Church): Bryn Athyn, PA. (267) 502-4850. Well, no, you can't get Drew to work for you, but he will give us a good recommendation. Drew was the Project Manager for the Cairnwood Roof Replacement and Restoration Project – the complete replacement of the slate and copper roofing systems at the former residence and mansion of John Pitcairn, co-founder of Pittsburgh Plate Glass. The Cairnwood mansion has subsequently been placed on the National Register of Historic Landmarks.
